The Earth Grant Internship and Diana Liverman Scholars Program are two programs hosted through the Arizona Institute for Resilience's Education Initiatives open to University of Arizona undergraduate students in any major who are interested in the environment, sustainability, resilience, social justice, and community service.

The Earth Grant Program provides students who are passionate about environmental and community resilience with paid internship opportunities with non-profit organization, local business, UA projects, or government agencies. In addition, students will participate in a weekly cross-sector leadership development course with activities inside and outside of the classroom. Earth Grant interns earn $19/hour for their work and have the option of earning 2 academic credits per semester. Check out the internship descriptions available for the 2024-2025 student cohort before starting the application.

The Diana Liverman Scholars Program provides students with experiential and field based opportunities to develop skills in science communication and environmental storytelling. Scholars will work with a non-profit community partner to enhance their mission and effective practice through communication projects. Liverman Scholars will participate in 3-4 day long/overnight expeditions throughout the year in addition to a weekly skill building workshop and receive mentorship from faculty, graduate student, and peer undergraduate mentors. Accepted participants will receive 2 academic credits and $500 per semester for their work.
