Marlana Hinkley

Engagement Lead GRA, Center for Climate Adaptation Science and Solutions

Marlana Hinkley is a Graduate Research Asssistant (GRA) and Engagement Lead for the Arizona Tri-University Recharge and Water Reliability Project (ATUR) in the Center for Climate Adaptation Science and Solutions (CCASS). She assists with project management and connecting the ATUR research with local, state, federal, and Tribal stakeholders across Arizona to gain practitioners’ insights and ensure the project’s final deliverables are useful to natural resource managers and decision-makers. Marlana has a background in environmental engineering and is currently pursuing a dual-degree M.S. (Water, Society, & Policy) and M.P.A. in the schools of Natural Resources & the Environment and Government & Public Policy. Prior to returning to graduate school, Marlana served three years as a Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) volunteer with the Peace Corps in Panama and five years with the Indian Health Service managing public water and sanitation projects for the San Carlos Apache Tribe in eastern Arizona. Through her career in public service, Marlana has become interested in finding ways of closing the water and environmental policy gaps to promote the long-term sustainability of water resources in the Southwest.
