When
This event is hosted by the Arizona Institute for Resilience at the University of Arizona (AIR-UA) and the Center for Mexican Studies at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (CEM-UNAM Tucson). It will take place on Thursday, February 29th, 2024, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM in ENR2 room S225, and via Zoom.
Our goal for this workshop is to bring together individuals with diverse perspectives, knowledges, and life experiences from across the UA and the UNAM. We aim to foster a dynamic exchange of insights, observations, approaches, and innovative ways for designing a Binational Laboratory for the Arizona Sonora Bioregion (BLASB). The BLASB will be dedicated to finding and promoting ways to improve the sustainability of the water-energy-food nexus, emphasizing the need for natural resources conservation and rational mining, within a context of ecological regional planning.
The workshop will include three plenary presentations from invited speakers. Later, the participants will break into five working groups, followed by a whole group discussion where we will share the conclusions of each working group and draw general conclusions. The workshop will culminate with networking activities.
Your registration is essential for the logistics of the event, please fill out this form before February 25th.
We hope to see you on Thursday, February 29th for a day of inspiration and collaboration!
