Dr. Ovienmhada is the recipient of the Paul and Alice Baker Endowed Postdoctoral Research Associate in Climate Change and Human Resiliency, a generous gift awarded by the Arizona Institute for Resilience (AIR). While at SGDE and in collaboration with Dr. Beth Tellman, Dr. Ovienmhada has continued her innovative work that mixes community engaged work with geospatial technologies to enhance the resiliency of prison landscapes against climate extremes. Her work is both extremely well published and impactful with the most recent example being the Toxic Prisons Mapping Project - a participatory research initiative to map the environmental hazards that prisons face from extreme heat, air pollution, flooding and wildfires.
Come to ENR2 Room S107 THIS FRIDAY @ 3:30pm for Dr. Ovienmhada's talk! Afterward we will grab a beverage at Screwbean led by Tai, our fearless chair of fun and social events.
