The Annual South West Noxious, Invasive Plant Short Course has been running since 1995. It is the 2nd longest running annual training event in the history of the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension, serving clientele and stakeholders in Arizona, New Mexico, and throughout the southwestern United States. The meeting was originally operated exclusively in Farmington, NM.
In 2023, it was handed over to Dr. Elise Gornish (University of Arizona Cooperative Extension and Director of AIR's Desert Laboratory on Tumamoc Hill) and Dr. Leslie Beck (New Mexico State University Cooperative Extension) and has been run under this new leadership starting in 2025. Thanks to funding from the Natural Resources Conservation Service, participation in this year's event is FREE!
