Extreme heat has become an increasingly urgent issue that cities must address around the world. Planners are in the best position to lead and contribute to efforts to plan for heat resilience and adaptation. The webcast will be presented in an open discussion format featuring a panel of experts responding to questions on how their organizations, countries and communities use planning policies, strategies and tools to plan for heat resilience. Learning objectives for the webcast are: (1) what is the current state of the art of plan elements, policies, programs and tools that work best to achieve heat resilience for different types of cities and their respective heat challenges; and (2) what can we learn from other countries and international organizations about planning for heat resilience.
