Lauren White
Lauren is the University Communications Specialist for the Southwest Climate Adaptation Science Center (SW CASC). She joined the SW CASC in February 2025. In this role, she directs communications and outreach to disseminate science results to partners across the southwest, and manages the SW CASC’s communications plan.
Most recently, Lauren served as the Deputy Director of Communications & Engagement at the University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability (SEAS) Sustainability Clinic, where she led strategic communications to advance climate resilience for frontline communities in Detroit. Prior to that, Lauren was the Sustainability Program Manager at the University of Arizona Office of Sustainability, where she co-chaired the first phase of the university’s inaugural climate action planning effort, and founded and oversaw the Office’s communications program. Lauren’s background also includes providing senior-level management for NOAA’s $15-30M portfolio of Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) projects, co-chairing the NOAA Regional Collaboration Communications Team, and serving on the Midwest Green Mission Team for Whole Foods Market in Chicago, where she developed sustainability initiatives and training programs for the company.
