Maia is the program coordinator for the Carson Scholars Program and the Diana Liverman Scholars Program – two interdisciplinary scholarship programs within the Arizona Institute for Resilience. These programs aim to help students develop skills in science communication and environmental storytelling to expand the impact of their studies. In her role, Maia aims to provide students with unique opportunities for growth, self-exploration, community collaboration, creativity, and environmental action. Prior to joining the AIR team, Maia was an Academic Advisor for over three years. She has also earned a BS in Geography and a MA in Higher Education from the University of Arizona.
